Icky

MissC was up most of the night. I had her sleep with me on the couch in the school room. The back cushions are removable, so there was plenty of space, and it's right in front of a bathroom.

I heard TJ once in the night. He woke up this morning sick.

There are just the two older girls left..

Not Just Me

This week is my husband's last week at his current job. He's scheduled to start Monday at the new place. He gave his notice about two weeks ago and I have felt anxious and overwhelmed since. Ben came down with the flu last Sunday and was finally on the mend Friday or Saturday. Little Guy came down with it this past Sunday, TJ told me he was experiencing it, and now I've got it. Also, I was informed that I behave differently with my family than with strangers and that I need to treat the former as the latter.

Okay. I've got my work cut out for me.

Baking Bread

LX wanted some Mommy-Time, so I stuck him in his apron & he helped me make bread. He stirred & splashed & sprayed flour all over. We made a soaker $ "biga" to mix together tomorrow for tomorrow's bread, then we mixed a loaf of bread for today & set it to rise. The butter is frozen, so we'll have to let it thaw before we bake cookies. I was thinking of making PB&J cookies - mmm!!

3652 Days

That's how long we've been married. The Good Lord has blessed us with the adoption of my first and added four redheaded children to our flock. We have lived in 3 states and 2 countries, and moved home at least 7 times, though we've been in this house 4 years. My husband has been blessed with work, building a business (with me working) while we awaited the adoption, and always having had a job to feed his little ones since.

Before we married, we chose that divorce would not be the end of any disagreement. No matter how dissimilar our interests, there is always one common bond that we can work together from.

Happy Anniversary, my love.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Genesis 2:24-25

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.
Mark 10:7-10

End of the Sweet Potatoes

Cooking up some lunch for the children and myself. I put on some rice and saw I had some chicken thighs that needed cooking. I drafted MissA to wash & peel the rest of the sweet potatoes. While she finished, I gathered a few leaves of sage & Rosemary & chopped them up. Those & a sprinkling of chopped onion went into the frying pan with some butter.

Apparently, the photos aren't working still!!!

On Perception

Hand-in-hand they stood on the river's edge. The waters eddied and swelled, but he had been told of easy footing. "Together we can make it," he said. She faithfully held his hand and followed along. A third of the way, she asked for a pause to rest a moment. He took the opportunity to choose his next steps and they continued. Halfway and she again needed pause. He reluctantly stopped and looked ahead. "I don't know if I can," she whispered as they stepped further into the swollen river. "You'll be fine, it's not as bad as you seem to think." was the last she heard before the torrents took her. He stood, amazed, ankle-deep, for he hadn't checked where she stepped.

Something Small

Earlier this week, MissB found the finger puppets book & asked me to make her a monkey. I started it, then had to do other things & set it aside.

MissC asked me to buy her this sparkly blue yarn a few months back. When she looked through the book yesterday, she asked for the mermaid. I figured I could at least get the tail done in a day..

She was so upset! MissC kept telling me that she was "broken" & asking me to sew it closed. I wish the iPhone app would let me upload video, she was flipping back and forth from crying to giggling as I played with the mermaid.

Today, she adores it. & she's using the tail for storage.

That went so quick, I finished up the monkey just before bed. The eyes ara a bit googly, but MissB likes it.

This afternoon, I whipped up the space ship (UFO) for TJ real quick!
